Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has inaugurated its direct flight service from Lahore to Baku, marking a transformative moment in Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations and international air connectivity. The landmark launch ceremony in Lahore witnessed the presence of His Excellency Khazar Farhadov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, and Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, who emphasized the strategic significance of this aviation breakthrough.
Defence Minister Asif credited Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visionary leadership, noting how such initiatives are driving the nation’s economic advancement. Prime Minister Sharif himself hailed the new route as a dual triumph—strengthening bilateral ties with Azerbaijan while simultaneously boosting Pakistan’s tourism potential.
